We know some of our buddies use the imperial system.

  1. Dear B4,

Your PhotoPeach presentation is brilliant. Yes, I managed to get all answers correct. When I was your age I used the imperial system but before I finished high school I was using the metric system here in Australia. We changes system while I was at school.

  6. Hi B4,
Thank you for your quiz! We enjoyed doing it together in class today! We weren’t sure how much a tonne was, some of us thought that if you were very large you could be weighed in tonnes, so we had to look it up and find out! If something is very heavy, we say ‘ooh, that weighs a ton!’ Do you say that too?
    Your friends,

    • Dear Room With a View
We’re glad you enjoyed the quiz.
A tonne is a metric term, meaning 1000 kilograms.
We do still say that something ‘weighs a ton’ even though that is an imperial measurement. Old habits are hard to forget!

We had fun baking Anzac biscuits this week at school. Maybe some students will try making your red Nose cookies at home.
